Congratulations Maria and Adam!

Maria and AdamCongratulations to one very fun couple, Maria and Adam! They were an awesome couple to work with and were so cute. They even called on their wedding day to double check some details, which I will admit was a first for us.

Adam and Maria were married on June 18, 2011 at the Wellness Spa in Stevens Point. This is the first wedding we performed at the Wellness Spa and between the calming beauty of the place and Deb’s (the owners) help with the decorations, layout, and music, the day was a complete success. The Wellness Spa has a small room that will hold (my estimate only, call Deb for the details) about 75 guests. The small stand we used for the unity candle and the flowers decorating the “altar” were provided by the Wellness Spa.

during the ceremony Maria and Adam are very family oriented and chose to keep their wedding party small. Adam chose his brother as his best man and Maria chose her brother as her man of honor (it does not seem right to call him a maid). For the processional, the best man and man of honor took their places shortly after Adam and I took ours. Once we were standing ready, Maria entered being escorted by her father.

During the ceremony, Adam and Maria were surprised by Adam’s mom who wrote and delivered an original poem she wrote called “Keep It in the Grey”. A truly wonderful, poetic study on the core values of a marriage and how to make one last a lifetime. We are so fortunate since she said that we could use it in our collection of examples and ideas for wedding ceremonies. Thank you so much, Liz.

taking vows Before Maria and Adam took their vows, they did the ceremony of the hands of the bride and groom. During this time, the couple hold each others’ hands and learns about the gift those hands are and how they will work to make the marriage work over the years of a lifetime. To be honest, I have no idea who wrote the original, but would love to know (if you know who, please leave us a comment). After their vows, they chose a sweet unity candle ceremony.

After the ceremony, while Maria and Adam were taking pictures, their guests were treated to a small buffet of appetizers provided by Rockman’s Catering in Stevens Point. Even though it was overcast, the day was quite warm and Adam and Maria had thought ahead; most of the appetizers were cold and quite refreshing. The only warm dish was a kabob of chicken with pineapple slices and whole cherry tomatoes that had been grilled and then simmered in tariyaki sauce. To complement the kabobs were vegetable pizza, a fruit plate, mini muffins, and these raspberry cream filled chocolate cups (I swear those were heaven in a bite). To quench our thirst they brought in an offering of lemonade, iced tea, and bottled water. Thanks so much Rockman’s.

After the small reception, Maria and Adam went off to Michelle’s to have dinner and celebrate the new stage in their relationship.

Adam and Maria, we wish for you every happiness. Thank you for sharing such a special day with us.
